Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy Sandiaga Uno explained that tourism recovery in Bali will focus on quality, namely foreign tourists with long vacation durations, and spending more money when shopping.

In 2019 the number of foreign tourists coming to Bali amounted to 6.2 million people. However, that number has fallen drastically in the last two years.

Data from the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy, the level of foreign tourist arrivals began to squirm. From 3 February 2022 – 12 March 2022, there were 5,000 Overseas Travelers coming to Bali.

“As the number of airlines increases after Singapore Airlines, Emirates, and flights from Australia,” said Sandiaga.

Along with the increasing number of tourists, said Sandiaga, hotel and restaurant tax revenues increased. This also needs to be accompanied by controlling the spread of Covid-19. If the trial is successful, it is planned that the opening for PPLN will be expanded in Indonesia.

“Without karentina, it is accompanied by an arrival visa,” said Sandiaga.

Other tourist destinations are not a matter of not being beautiful, what makes Bali the destination of choice is because of Tri Hita Karana, the traditions and harmony of its people who don’t just make offerings every day and remain strong to this day. So there is no need to become a new Bali, imitate Balinese society which is open to all religions, statuses, without distinction. In the past, Balinese dance performances lasted up to 4 hours, but the public was open to input from foreign tourists, so it was finally shortened. This mentality needs to be applied by other tourist villages in Indonesia.
